Hi! My name is Andrea Taylor, and I’m an educator passionate about culturally responsive teaching, language equity, and sparking creativity in the classroom. I’ve taught multiple grades and subjects, but currently, I’m preparing to teach 4th Grade ELA. I’m especially interested in how digital media, literature, and student voice intersect to empower young learners.
As a first-generation college graduate, I know firsthand the power of representation and storytelling. I’m currently diving deeper into media literacy and critical pedagogy, inspired by thinkers like Linda Christensen and Sir Ken Robinson. One talk that continues to shape my approach is Sir Ken Robinson’s TED Talk on Creativity in Schools—a must-watch if you believe education should nurture every child’s unique strengths.
Outside of the classroom, I love writing, exploring new tech tools, and mentoring new teachers. My goal is always to create learning spaces where all students feel seen, celebrated, and capable of achieving their own version of a happy ending.
